The ZAP or Zero Air Pollution Vehicle is the product of 3 decades of research and development, thoughts, ideas, and innovation. The idea for these modern marvels stems from desire to improve the environment and become less dependent on fossil fuels. The ZAP has accomplished both of these being 100% electric and leaving no exhaust what-so-ever in its path. Following is the rundown of what exactly the ZAPs are and what they are capable of doing
ZAPs are the only city-class EV or Electric Vehicle Produced. They cost roughly .03 cents per mile to operate. They can reach up to 40 MPH and can go up to 30 miles on one charge. They charge by a regular extension cord with a three prong outlet like you would plug into your wall at home. The 5 horsepower motor is powered by 6 regular car batteries, but for a longer distance there is a lithium battery upgrade available that can increase the distance to 50 miles on one charge. Being a 3-wheeled vehicle they are considered to be a motorcycle and can be registered and used as just that.
This is a list of the dimensions of a ZAP sedan and the trucks are roughly the same size except they have a dumping truck bed instead of a back seat.

According to www.ZapWorld.com on February 17, 2009 President Obama signed in a Stimulus Act that provides a tax credit of 10% or up to $2,500 dollars for purchases of eco-friendly vehicles and the ZAPs fall under that category.
